some before and afters

I don't procrastinate a lot but when I do, I really do. Like 8 years...

Our foyer, builder beige before. I hated it every single one of the days of those 8 years.
After...
A blue, very light but with our windows, cloudy and sunny days, it looks different in each shot. I'm not sure how potential buyers will respond. We wanted something to make the crown moulding and wainscoting stand out so beige-ish just wouldn't do. I'm not a beige person anyway.

I can't find a "before" of my laundry room, not sure what happened to it. Anyway, it was beige too. Blech! I chose a different blue. It was called "faded denim." How appropriate for a laundry room. I actually got it free from Ace Hardware. They had a special offer if you were one of the first 20 people at the store on a certain day, you got a free quart. You betcha, I was there. I like free and I'm a morning person so it was perfect for me.

My hubby had put in this bead board on one wall a year or so ago. He has since added it to the other walls (last weekend, happy Mother's day indeed!) AND I finally got a new washer and dryer. Maybe I won't complain about my laundry anymore.

Oh fresh paint, how I love you so.

My front door before. It is a maroon-ish color. I liked it ok. I don't love our front door. I want side lights and/or a window or a wooden door but for now this is it. I had other "befores" but I like this one best. ;)  Go Big Blue!
After! A khaki green... I loathe those electrical boxes...
Here is another shot, a more cloudy day, it kind of coordinates with my landscape loving Big Tall Hubby's stuff, don't you think? The white trim was painted too. What a difference! (We hired painters to do the door and trim and foyer, because well, we don't have ladders big tall enough and I have kind of developed a ladder-phobia. Well worth the money spent.)
I always write the room on each paint can. Learned that lesson the hard way. Especially now that we have a bunch of blue rooms.
I know I have said it before but I don't know why I put off painting. It is not that big of a deal but for some reason, I just put it off forever. I just always feel like I don't have the time to do it. Then when I finish it, wow, it just makes me happy. Will you remind me of that the next time I talk about wanting to paint something? Hint, hint, the kids' bath is in need... and the dining room, the master bath and bedroom... ey yi yi!

Have a great weekend.
I am not painting!  ;)

Love the paint colors. LOVE the front door. I'll be in charge of reminding you to paint{something I consider myself very good at-I have a million empty paint cans as proof}.

AND love your bead board!! Way to go Big Tall. Acts of kindness-aka crossing things off my honey do list-the BEST mom's day gifts ever ;)

Wow Jenny! What a difference paint color can make! I LOVE the blue in the foyer and how it makes your trim and board and batten POP! It look awesome! So does your laundry room- how nice of your husband to do that for Mother's Day for you! And I think the green door looks great...we have a maroonish door too that I've been wanting to change up....I never thought of green! Hmmm?
